Eleanor Whitfield has sat as arbitrator in more than a hundred and forty international proceedings, chairing over half of them. She took silk in 2009 after fifteen years at the commercial bar, where she acted for sponsors, contractors and state entities across the energy sector.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and sits regularly under ICC, LCIA and SCC rules. Her practice spans long-term gas supply, EPC and offshore construction disputes, and she is frequently appointed in cases raising questions of price review and force majeure.
She writes and lectures on procedural efficiency in large construction arbitrations and has served on the drafting committee for institutional guidance on document production.
