Lisbon-based arbitrator with a focus on Lusophone Africa and Latin America: mining concessions, power purchase agreements and investment claims.
Sofia began in the projects group of a Lisbon firm, advising on hydropower and mining concessions in Angola, Mozambique and Brazil, and moved into disputes when those projects started going wrong. She has sat as arbitrator since 2014 and chaired tribunals under the ICC, SCC and ICSID rules.
She conducts proceedings in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
